Canton Fair a fast access to the world market

This year marks the 63rd anniversary of the Canton Fair. In recent years, many Chinese companies have interacted with the global marketplace through the Fair.
The first session of the Canton Fair was held on April 25th, 1957. Since then, Shanghai Minmetals Development Ltd. (“SMM”) has taken part in each session of the fair. Back then, the Fair was the only export trade platform that helped SMM sell its hardware and mineral products around the world and expand its global presence.
Shanxi Dahua Glass Industrial Company Limited made its debug at the Fair in 2002. Dahua’s annual export volume has increased from less than 1 million USD to 16 million USD. Representatives of Chinese new high-tech and high-end manufacturing brands, such as ECOVACS and CAMC, have made use of the Fair to go global as well.
The Fair’s exhibition space has grown from 9,600 square meters to 1.185 million square meters. The Fair now boasts an accumulated export volume of 1.38 trillion USD, and more than eight million overseas buyers. Today, the Fair not only helps Chinese companies go global, but also attracts foreign companies to explore opportunities in China.
